ECC Mens 1st XI vs Broadbridge Heath CC, 1st XI
A beautiful Sunny Saturday for the first league game of the season saw our 1st XI take on Broadbridge Heath at home.
After losing the toss we were put into bat on what could be a challenging wicket to bat on.
J.Bateman and S.Grant opened up, S.Grant fell for 0, H.Grant (15) and C.drake (10) quickly saw Eastergate reduced to 47-3.
A.White came to the crease to partner J.Bateman and that's certainly what they did seeing out the rest of the innings to see Eastergate reach 183-4 with J.Bateman 48 off 128 and A.White 71no off 63.
ECC bowling innings got off to a great start with a smart piece of fielding and run out from J.Edwards. H.Grant and J.Reed on his first competitive game back kept the bowling tight and score restricted picking up a wicket a piece.
H.Reed and J.Dakic kept it tight in the middle overs for S.Grant and J.Bateman to see us home with the ball towards the end.
A great team effort in the field with T.Jaggar being the stand out saw Eastergate win by 18 runs.
