ECC 1st XI vs Pagham T20

17 June 2025 | Joe Edwards
ECC 1st XI vs Pagham T20

The Slam first XI travelled away to Pagham for their fourth fixture of the T20 campaign. The skipper won the toss and elected the bat.

Dan got off to a flyer again taking 15 runs off the first over. Joey couldn’t replicate this however and was caught for a duck. Henry then joined Dan at the crease before he was caught for 2. Brad then walked out to the middle before he was caught for 1. The skipper then joined Dan and these two put on a 57 partnership with Dan retiring 50* off 38 balls. With Dan retiring Aaron came to the middle but shortly after Andy would depart after a key 35 off 20 balls. Fergus joined Aaron hit a couple of fours but was then bowled for 13. Jack would then join his brother to try and score some quick late runs. Aaron finished 31* off 25 balls and Jack 5*. The gaters finished on 159-5.

Henry got the breakthrough in his first over bowling the Pagham number 1. However a good partnership from the Pagham 2 and 3 saw them motor pretty quickly before Fergus picked up both of them one being caught by Dan and the other LBW. Toby then picked up the Pagham number 5 bowled. Sadly for the gate the Pagham number 4 and 6 made an unbeaten 66 run partnership which saw the home team for the win.

Special Mentions: Dan 50* & a catch, Andy 35, Aaron 31*, Henry 1-36, Fergus 2-21 & Toby 1-31

The next Slam 1st XI game is on Tuesday 8th July at HOME to Aldwick
